In the upper town of Blankenese there are some rest stops and shops. In the evenings it gets a bit inhospitable here, as there are many large groups hanging around (this even led to a police operation during my visit). In any case, the upper town stands in complete contrast to the beautiful staircase and villa districts. Above, Blankenese is just a city.
