Namche Bazar is the most important center of Sagarmatha National Park. About 1,000 people live in this village, located at 3,440 meters above sea level. Namche Bazar is the most tourist town in the Everest area: it is possible to find excellent pastry shops, quality restaurants and hotels and even an Irish Pub. Finally, in Namche Bazar, you can find many shops: from photography to souvenirs, there are many places where you can buy something.

Namche Bazar is located in a basin-shaped indentation above Bhote Koshi at an altitude of 3,440 m. Namche is reached from the valley floor after crossing the Dudh Koshi and after a climb of about two hours. Namche Bazar is at an important crossroads for the Khumbu region, where the path along the Bhote Koshi via Thame to Nangpa La and the path that continues up the valley of Dudh Koshi and ultimately Mount Everest branch off.
