Namche Bazar is an impressive village because of the terraced buildings and at the same time the "entrance" to the higher mountains of the Himalayas. In the narrow streets you can tell that it was a former trading metropolis, because small shops lined up. If necessary, you can buy mountain and trekking equipment here, should you miss something else.
At the entrance to the village, you might meet women washing their laundry in the river that flows through the village. Otherwise, there is a bustle. Almost like a very small Kathmandu :).
Besisahar is another entrance gate into the Himalayas, there it goes into the Annapurna region. Or Kagbeni, starting point from the north into the Annapurna region or east into the Mustang area.
