The land in front of the fortress wall was artificially wrested from the sea. In the 60s and 70s, the Park de la Mar, the Park of the Sea, was created here. Parking spaces were originally planned here, due to the resistance of the population, among others. A. Miró was prevented from doing so.

From here you simply have the best view of the wonderful cathedral. If you stand directly in front of it you don't really see much.

Parking in the underground car park. Just don't drink coffee in the Café am Park. Doesn't taste good and totally overpriced. Sightseeing buses are on the left hand side of the cathedral. Personally, I would start with the right hand and return via the St. Eulalia square via the left side. Don't forget the city map, if you don't know your way around, you will get lost. If you come by bus, the lines are marked with different colors

The Parc de La Mar was built in the 60s. An artificial lake reflects La Seu Cathedral and Almudaina Palace. To admire are the fountains on the lake. Here cultural events take place.

The cathedral is huge, so it's good to be able to go downstairs to add to the monumental impression. With the former royal palace Almudaina next to it, there is a fantastic view from the sea side.
Below is a ceramic work of art by Joan Miró on tiles, which he donated to the city in the 1980s.
We were too late today to visit the buildings, but we still have a few mornings to catch up on.
You have to see the cathedral from the inside, it's a phenomenal space and light experience - at least when there aren't that many visitors.

The visit is worthwhile. The best thing to do is to walk in and take a look, especially from the harbor side. Probably THE tourist highlight of Mallorca.
