The Gallenberg is a mountain ridge, 373 m, west of Gisingen (Wallerfangen), eastern foothills of the Paris Basin* in the Saarlouis district.
From here you can see the gentle curves of the hills around Gisingen.
*) The Paris Basin is a fossil sedimentary basin in northeastern France, western Belgium and southeastern England. It began to sink in the Permian (300 to 250 million years ago). Over 3,000 meters of sediment accumulate in the Paris Basin.
The Paris Basin is bordered by the Ardennes and Vosges and extends into Saarland.
