At the time of the GDR, such huge greenhouses stood almost on the entire grounds of the Landschaftspark Herzberge. The VEG horticulture mainly bred gerbera and cloves, which embellished the dwellings of the population throughout the GDR.

Meanwhile, only one tenth of the original halls are preserved. After years of teaching, flowers and plants are bred here today.

_I_suggest_that_this_highlight_be_renamed_to_"StadtFarm"._

StadtFarm is now located here - a young and modern company that sells agricultural products from its own production - keywords urban farming and aquaterraponics. The principle is explained very nicely in a video of the "Show with the Mouse" - here is the link to the page with the video: stadtfarm.de/umweltbildung

I think that's a very interesting concept that TopFarmers and Stadtfarm are pursuing here. More information can be found on the TopFarmers and StadtFarm YouTube channels.

StadtFarm also has a delivery service - see stadtfarm.de

Due to Corona, there are currently (spring 2021) changed opening hours (Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), for the full range we recommend a visit to the weekly market, where goods from other farms are also offered. The fish sale is currently on Fridays and Saturdays.

And no - this is not paid advertising and I do not work there either. :-)
I'm just amazed by what they're doing and wish they'd get more attention for their initiative.

Sales of vegetables, lettuce and herbs according to the season, fish in different variations (fresh fillet, smoked fish, Catböller and fish skewers) as well as snacks and drinks to go.
