The hall church made of ashlar masonry was built over an older core in the 15th century. The nave was modified in 1597 when a stair tower was added to the north-west corner to give access to the galleries. A free-standing stair tower with a bridge to the nave leads to the local patronage box for von Künsberg. The chancel tower was raised in 1616 by one storey, which houses the tower clock and belfry, and covered with a slated, eight-sided knurled spire. There is a gallery above the sacristy on the south side of the choir tower, which is open to the cross-vaulted choir.

The church is a sandstone block construction. The older core on which the church was built probably dates from the 15th century. The stair towers and changes to the south nave date from 1597, the top floor of the tower in 1616.
It has a stately gallery entrance and a stair tower with a wooden gallery. The churchyard walling and the former fortification ring of the churchyard date from the late Middle Ages. The northeast gate tower has a half-timbered upper floor.
