          Kreuzsteinchen is a striking rock at a height of 650 m that stands out from the landscape. This rock consists of very hard diabase, which is embedded as igneous rock in the softer sedimentary material of slate. Such diabase bars or greenstone rocks appear in many places in this area because of their hardness and are therefore mined and processed into gravel or crushed stone, such as in the nearby Hildfeld quarry on Klemensberg. These rock formations are also clearly visible in Kreuzberg, on Bigge Stein and in Pölz.

          From Kreuzsteinchen there is a good view to the north into the upper Ruhr valley and the surrounding mountains, which rise to a height of around 800 m.
