Kristkirken is, with its 700 seats, the largest church in Kolding. The church is built by architects Svane and Jørgensen in 1925, in a neoclassical style, heavily inspired by Copenhagen Cathedral, which was built about 100 years earlier.

The Kristkirche is Kolding's largest church and has 700 seats. The building was inaugurated in 1925 and is built in a neoclassical style.
In the period after the First World War, Kolding grew. The population reached almost 20,000, but there was still only one church in Kolding. It was therefore decided that the municipality with Kolding Å as the dividing line in Sct. Nicolai parish north of the river and Kristkirkens parish south of the river.
The cornerstone of the church was laid on April 21, 1923.
