A wonderful place in the sun to linger and enjoy the view - of course with a wine tasting stand, which also offers small snacks etc. and non-alcoholic drinks. Not cheap, but worth a detour!

Here you have an absolutely brilliant view of the so-called "Island Rhine"
This is the section of the river between Mainz and Bingen.
There are numerous elongated islands in the very wide river bed of the Rhine. Some of these islands even have wine growing.
This section of the Rhine is over 500 m wide in places. The Rhine then forces its way through the Middle Rhine Valley from the Binger Loch. Then it gets really tight. The story with the blonde maiden on the Loreley is well known....
