In the dunes of Oostvoorne there once stood a small building that belonged to the Zeeburgh country house and was called "the belvedere" because of the beautiful view. It was used by the board of the then Voorne water board. In 1732, a new stone building with an octagonal plan and dome was built in the dunes, near the Koepelweg. The new building was named Koepel Zeeburg.
