The Powder House at Bastion II in Brielle was founded in 1653 as a storage facility for gunpowder and now functions as an exhibition space. The April 1st association of Brielle is organizing a small exhibition here with free admission. The exhibition is open on Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm, from April 1 to November 1.

In the centuries-old Kruithuis on the Brielse ramparts, a permanent exhibition has been set up about the history of the 1 April celebrations in den Briel. The exhibition tells how, over the centuries, the population of Brielle has commemorated the city being taken by the Beggars on April 1, 1572. The Spaniards were unable to recapture the city. It was the beginning of our current Netherlands.
