The historic town hall, built in the Weser Renaissance style, is located on the market square in the historic town center of Bad Salzuflen. According to a chronicle from the 17th century, the plastered quarry stone building began in 1545. The building is characterized by its stepped gables with Renaissance ornamentation, the front of which dates from around 1580 and is the first gable with metalwork in the region of Lippe. ...In 1920, three coats of arms were attached to the facade: the Lippe rose, the town coat of arms and a star coat of arms.
Originally, there were three town hall cellars on the ground floor, while the first floor housed the town judge's offices and the large town hall. The rear part of the town hall was used to store the tithe grain. Since 1982, the historic town hall in Bad Salzuflen has served as the town's registry office and houses a restaurant.

The historic "Town Hall" is considered an outstanding monument to the city's economic heyday. It is a two-storey late Gothic quarry stone building that was built in the years 1545-1547. The magnificent Renaissance pediment is the result of a 'modernisation' in the 1580s; the porch was created in 1859/60. The town hall was used for administrative and representative purposes as well as for council meetings and court hearings. In the originally three Ratskeller pubs on the ground floor and in the large council hall on the upper floor, receptions and celebrations (including weddings) also took place. Last but not least, the town hall was also used to store fire extinguishers and handguns to defend the city. The flags of the riflemen's guild and the shops of the guilds and guilds were also housed here.
