The Eulenkluft is an approximately 70 meters high, directly into the water of the Zwickauer Mulde sloping rock face of gneiss mica schist. You can see them well from the Schlosspark Wechselbar, where there is a pebble beach in the Muldenschleife.

The cliffs of the "owl cave" are formed from an approx. 50 meter high rock face. In thousands of years of work, the Zwickauer Mulde has managed to break through the rock barrier and uncover a geologically extremely interesting rock formation.

For hikers, however, this means a hiking trail that requires surefootedness, because in addition to a lot of scree on the way, there are also a few rock edges to climb. Not a challenge in itself, but there is a risk of slipping and the former railing, which prevented a "fall" in the direction of the river, is no longer there.
