On the outskirts of Aue, right on the historic Silberstraße, you can relax in a small green oasis from everyday stress. Close-to-nature enclosures, facilities designed with loving attention to detail, well-cared for animals and a concept that is unique in the world quickly convey the concern of the zoo - people and animals should feel comfortable. In a time of superlatives, nothing can be big enough, fast enough and spectacular enough, the mini zoo shows a completely different world. While everyone is fascinated by the size of a whale, or stands in awe of a giraffe, few have seen horses as small as 70cm or monkeys as small as a hamster. So it is no coincidence that the word "dwarf" occurs very frequently in the list of zoo animals kept. Pygmy marmoset, dwarf mongoose, dwarf muntjak, dwarf otter, dwarf macaw, dwarf genet are just a few representatives. More than 400 mini animals, including all the world's smallest breeds of domestic animals and many very rare mini forms from the wild, make a visit to the Minis Aue zoo a very special experience. And so that the human dwarfs also feel comfortable, there is a playground, petting enclosures and the possibility to celebrate children's birthday parties in the zoo by prior arrangement.
