Santo Stefano di Sessanio is an enchanting village to say the least. This perched village, made up of stone houses, blends perfectly with the surrounding environment.

Symbol of the village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, the Medici Tower dating back to the 14th century and located at the top of the village had a lookout function. This tower was already present before the arrival of the De' Medici family who, however, carried out various interventions over the years. The fourteenth-century tower was originally 20 meters high, had a cylindrical plan and was built in local tanned stone. Unfortunately, during the 2009 earthquake it collapsed almost completely but, 12 years after the earthquake, it was completely rebuilt. - turismo.abruzzo.it/laquila/santo-stefano-di-sessanio
