Romkerhalle, the starting point of this hike, in the community-free area of Harz in the Lower Saxony district of Goslar, is an existing property consisting of a hotel and restaurant in the Okertal of the Harz low mountain range. It is a popular destination because of the Romkerhall waterfall. The Kingdom of Romkerhall Hotel and Restaurant is marketed as the smallest kingdom in the world. Opposite is the Romkerhall waterfall and falls here near Romkerhall on the rocky east flank below the Huthberg foothills "Kleiner Romke" (441.7 m above sea level 64m as an artificial waterfall on the Romker cliff, also known as the marble cliff. Today it attracts thousands of visitors. The Romkerhall waterworks is also located on the street. Romkerhalle is the starting point and transit point for many hikes. A path leads down the river along the Oker surrounded by steep rocks, which are used by climbers especially on weekends , of which this hike is also a part.
