Ascending from Erkensruhr, the penultimate station of the "Path of Creation" is the labyrinth. In colloquial language, they are often "lumped together", but in terms of content, a distinction must be made between "labyrinth" and "maze". In the "labyrinth" you cannot get lost (as in the "maze"), but instead you walk inexorably towards the center - albeit slowed down by many loops and detours. Wikipedia describes the labyrinth as: "a winding, branch-free path, the line of which inevitably reaches the goal, the center, with regular changes of direction." According to Christian mysticism, this center in the middle of the labyrinth is God himself, to whom man (as a pilgrim on earth) is on his way in the labyrinth of life.
