Here was the cijnshoeve Hof ter Dilft, a moated farm and seat of the lordship until the end of the 18th century when the ancien régime was abolished. It then came into the possession of various private individuals and noblemen. Eventually it came to Victor de Borrekens and he had the current castle built in 1902-1903. After his death the domain was divided into plots. In 1978 the castle was purchased by the municipality. They had it restored and used it as the town hall from 1982-2008.
It is a rectangular castle in the style of English neo-Gothic with strong horizontal and vertical accentuations. In addition, there are a few outbuildings such as an orangery, a gazebo and a forester's house.
The whole is located in a castle park of 25 ha that is used as a municipal park.
