An exclusive view over the Champs Elysées, one of the most beautiful avenues in the world.
In 1806, Napoleon I ordered the construction of the Arc de Triomphe in honor of the Great Army. Inspired by the arches of antiquity, this emblematic monument collects the names of the battles and generals of the Revolution and the First Empire.
It houses the tomb of the unknown soldier whose flame is lit every night. From the terrace, you will be able to admire, both day and night, an exclusive view over the Champs-Elysées.

The queue for the Arc de Triomphe is fast moving. So don't be put off. Entrance fee per adult: €13. A visit to the viewing terrace is worthwhile. The ascent over the numerous steps is certainly a bit tedious, but you will be rewarded with a wonderful view, especially of the Champs-Elysées shopping street. Inside the building there are numerous historical remains to admire.

This influencer hotspot is located on the narrow median of the Champs-Elysées, directly at the roundabout of the Arc de Triomphe. A small queue forms here as one helps the other with a great photo.
I even saw young people sitting/laying down on the circular marker here, which certainly made for bizarre images in connection with the roundabout and the Arc de Triomphe.
        Great photo opportunity.

It's best to have a look in Paris first and dare the climb. There is also an elevator for those who really need one. The view great. Can you spend some time at the top. We booked the tickets via GetUrGuide because they are always 2-3 cheaper than on site. Absolute recommendation!

The Arc de Triomphe is a triumphal arch 50 meters high and has a base of 45 by 22 meters.
The building stands on one of the busiest roundabouts in Paris at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, where twelve avenues converge.

Construction began in 1806 at the behest of Napoleon, in honor of his victory at Austerlitz.

After the First World War, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, who was killed in that war, was built under the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe has therefore been turned into a monument in memory of the First World War.

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, or Arc de Triomphe for short, is a monument erected between 1806 and 1836 in the center of the Place Charles-de-Gaulle in Paris. It is one of the landmarks of the metropolis.

At the end of September 2021, Christo's nephew completed what the "packaging artist" and his wife Jeanne Claude had planned for 2020. The Arc de Triumphe is wrapped for two weeks with the same foil as the 1995 Reichstag in Berlin. The packaging of the Arc de Triomphe was already part of the work of art. The veiled triumphal arch can be admired until October 3, 2021.

The most famous triumphal arch in the world was commissioned by none other than Emperor Napoleon I. He wanted to celebrate his victories like the emperors of Rome did back then. Today the Arc de Triomphe stands in the middle of the world's most difficult roundabout.

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most recognizable symbols of Paris and a must-see for any visitor to the city. The monumental bridge stands on the Place Charles de Gaulle and offers a breathtaking view of the city.

The Arc de Triomphe was built in the 19th century to honor the French army that fought during the Napoleonic Wars. There are numerous inscriptions and reliefs on the bridge depicting the exploits of the French army.

One of the special features of the Arc de Triomphe is the fact that it is located on one of the busiest roundabouts in Paris, the Place Charles de Gaulle. 12 streets intersect here, making it a unique and chaotic place. Still, it's a great place to take a break and enjoy the city views.

If you visit the Arc de Triomphe, be sure to climb the stairs to enjoy the breathtaking views of Paris. From up here you have an unforgettable view of the city and can be enchanted by its beauty.

The Arc de Triomphe was designed in 1806 by the architect Jean-François Chalgrin.
The history of the Arc de Triomphe dates back to the beginning of the 19th century,
when it was erected to honor the people who fought and died for the country in the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
The structure, with its astylar design, is located in the center of the twelve-lane Arc de Triomphe roundabout, which is one of the busiest traffic intersections in all of Paris.
The famous Arc de Triomphe is visited by an average of over 1.5 million people each year, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions in France.

The first plans to cover the Arc de triomphe were made 50 years ago and, as is so often the case with his projects, Christo was not only met with goodwill from politicians.
Now this project has finally been realized with a corona-related delay of one year.
Christo was able to plan the realization down to the last detail. Unfortunately, he was not able to experience the finished work.
This work of art fascinated me especially at night ......

We were up on the terrace at sunset, which is definitely worth it. Admission costs 13 euros and also includes a small exhibition. The view from above in all directions is great. A little tip: don't stand in line at the ticket counter, but buy tickets online 5 minutes in advance. Then you don't have to queue.

The Arc de Triomphe is, of course, an iconic place in Paris. It is possible to get under the arch, through a tunnel under the busiest roundabout in Paris. Unfortunately, nowadays you have to pay for it, as well as for a visit to the roof of the Arc. From there you have a magnificent view over the Champs Elysées. There are often tough lines, so if you want to go up, take the time for it in your city tour.

Another highlight in this breathtaking city. A pedestrian tunnel under the 5-lane roundabout leads to the Arc de Triomphe. Here, too, there is the opportunity to see another side of Paris from above.
Should definitely be included in every Paris tour.

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, often simply called the Arc de Triomphe, is a monument located in Paris, at a high point at the junction of the territories of the 8th, 16th and 17th arrondissements, in particular at the top of the avenue the Champs-Élysées and the avenue de la Grande-Armée, which constitute a major east-west Parisian axis starting from the Louvre pyramid, passing by the obelisk of La Concorde, the Arc de Triomphe itself and ending in the distance with the arch of La Défense. Its construction, decided by the Emperor Napoleon I, began in 1806 and was completed in 1836 under the reign of Louis-Philippe. Admission is free for EU citizens under 25.
