In the Rittnert state forest, attempts to cultivate foreign tree species have been made since 1880. This can still be seen in the different tree species here.
The topic is still relevant today. Climate change is a concern. It is about being able to serve the timber industry. Which tree can best cope with the change?
Hikers can definitely enjoy the forest with its many different trees.
October 2021: New signs about the tree species have been put up along the paths, some of which are new plantings.
Update February 2024: The general information sign for the educational forest has also been revised. has more information and now presents the area a little better.
