The barrier - the barrier structure

The dam in the south of Solingen is one of the oldest drinking water dams in Germany. It was inaugurated in 1903. In the meantime, it supplies all parts of the city of blades with the increasingly valuable water. The huge quarry stone barrier wall (43 meters high above the foundation level, 178 meters long) can hold around three million cubic meters of water.
