The post office building with enclosure and courtyard paving is a listed building on Poststraße.

The town received mail from neighboring Treuenbrietzen up until 1717. Subsequently, the Prussian Post set up a postal expedition, which was raised to a first-class post office in 1841. As the city prospered, demand for postal services continued to grow, and on April 1, 1890, the post office began construction of the building. Service operations began on September 30, 1891 and lasted until 1997.

A subsequent use as a youth hotel or 24-hour kindergarten could not be realized. In 2015, a private investor wants to construct 26 barrier-free rental apartments in the building.
