Nice secluded path through the forest above the Usa valley. You don't meet many people here. This section would hardly be worth mentioning if it weren't for the remains of an old radio bunker at the side of the road. What this is all about is uncanny: During World War II it belonged to the Adlerhorst headquarters, a bunker complex that was built by the notorious Todt Organization. The extensive complex included Kransberg Castle and Ziegenberg Castle as well as several camouflaged bunkers in Wiesental, some of which are still standing today. At the end of 1944, the HQ was actually used in the course of the Ardennes offensive.
