Every time I am moved anew when I walk past remnants of the wall that divided Germany until 1989 or border towers. The open-air museum on the “Ring of Remembrance” is the most impressive for me after many kilometers on the border paths in the Harz Mountains. Even if the border tower is a bit reminiscent of a Trabant make (it looks a bit small and somehow not particularly solid), it gives me goose bumps. On the border path we pass the remains of the "wall", walk on a wide path past the observation tower and come across other remains of the border fence, an observation station and so on.

Be sure to visit the small one-room border museum at Bahnhof Sorge. An employee also gives some interesting explanations. By the way, the Damo train can still be photographed at the entrance to the station.
