They are formed in correspondence with water vortices that carry sands, grains, even large pebbles that affect, dig, smooth layers of rock, even of different hardness and composition, to form almost always cylindrical structures whose regularity mainly depends the size and nature of the eroding agent. The internal walls can be perfectly smooth or represent spiral motifs, indicating a use for the excavation of very fine materials in the first case and coarser in the second.

It is one of the most beautiful places to see this erosive effect caused by the action of the sea. This giant's muffler is one of the 3 most beautiful in the area. There are others all mapped on the maps of the open street map.
