The tied arch bridge was rebuilt in 1978 as part of the reorganization of road traffic in the city of Minden and replaced the previous building, a sickle-shaped truss arch bridge with a suspended lane. At the same time, the new carriageway was expanded from two to six lanes without reinstalling the tram tracks that were no longer needed. On the new, current bridge, the bridge arches and the bridge plate are made of steel and were prefabricated north of the old bridge on the eastern bank. Then it was pushed over the Weser next to the old bridge. Here it was temporarily put into operation and moved transversely to the south after the old bridge was torn down. The receiving bridges to the west and east were extended on the old pillars, with the pillars being given a porch to widen the contact area. Four openings were created on the eastern bank, one opening on the western bank. The steel arches are not connected and are blue in color. Under the bridge in the flood area of the Weser, the ground is paved and is used on the west bank as a parking area for Mindener Schlagde, on the east bank it is a makeshift parking lot. Here, new usage measures are being considered as part of the master plan of the city of Minden.
