In 1456, the Lüttelforster mill first appeared in the annals of Haus Bocholtz, a manor in Waldniel. It belonged to the Dahlhof and was therefore called Dahlmühle at this time. By inheritance in 1591, the farm and mill were separated from the headquarters in Waldniel and given to the spouses Sibert von Bocholtz, who leased them. The mill was operated as an oil and grain mill. I don't know when the mill was called "Lüttelforster Mill". Around 1900 a restaurant was set up in the mill. The mill retained its right of storage until the milling operation ceased in 1954. The Lüttelforster mill today shows itself as a "hotel restaurant" with a large iron water wheel as a landmark and an original pan mill as jewelry in the dining room.

The Lüttelforster mill is located in the middle reaches of the Schwalm in Lüttelforst on the state road 371 in the municipality of Schwalmtal in the district of Viersen. It didn't need a pond to operate. Above the Lüttelforster Mühle is the Jennekes Mühle, below the Pannenmühle. The water level is 51 m above sea level.

In 1456, the Lüttelforster mill first appeared in the annals of the Bocholtz family (aristocratic family), a manor in Waldniel. It belonged to the Dahlhof and was therefore also called the Dahlmühle at that time. Through the division of inheritance in 1591, the farm, including the mill, was separated from the main office in Waldniel and given to the Sibert von Bocholtz couple. The mill was operated as an oil and grain mill.

Around 1900 a restaurant was set up in the mill. The mill kept its dam right until the grinding operation was stopped in 1954. The Lüttelforster mill is now a "hotel restaurant" with a large iron water wheel as a landmark and an original pan mill as a decoration in the dining room.

The brick angle courtyard was built in the second half of the 18th century. The two-storey house in 7 axes was built with stone walls and benches. The mill wheel has been preserved, but was modified in the 19th century. This mill is with the others, e.g. T. less well-preserved mills on the Schwalm, a clear testimony that grain and oil milling were important historical branches of the economy.
