Caves of Catullus is the name given to the ruins of a Roman villa that was built in the 1st century AD at the northern end of the Sirmione peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The villa was built on the remains of older predecessor buildings from the first century BC. So Wikipedia 😎 we looked at the villa on our tour to Sirmione. It's a beautiful place that exudes a lot of calm. You have many opportunities to linger and enjoy the great view and tranquility. 👍👍

Very nice place, a bit away from the hustle and bustle...if you get there early enough, the school classes will come later to visit...great view over the lake and Jamaica Beach. The walls, which are up to 6 m high and initially built in a herringbone pattern, are amazing.
