The mouth of the tunnel is located at 735 m above sea level in the Lehmergrund. The tunnel was muted in 1692 and driven 120 m into the Vorderen Fastenberg. After that, work was stopped. In 1717, King David's Pit began further excavation. This ended with no results and was discontinued after 1722. Several passages, albeit deaf, were crossed, and the hopes associated with this tunnel were not fulfilled. During the Second World War, the tunnel was used as an air raid shelter. After the demolition of the VEB Wema Johanngeorgenstadt building, on whose property the mouth hole was located, the Stollnmundloch was reconstructed from rubble stones after 1990 as part of the construction of a mining trail and provided with a notice board.
