The Corridor Route takes an ingenious line beneath the Scafell massif’s jumble of crags. You are rewarded with impressive views to Piers Gill, the great chasm below Lingmell and to Great Gable. It is one of the finest approaches to Scafell Pike, full of atmosphere and little bits of scrambling interest.

Fantastic alternate route up Scafell Pike, going from Seathwaite and heading straight up after the bridge rather than the left turn, sure footedness required over the boulder fields to get to the yarn half way up and the stretcher box.

In my opinion, the best way up or down from Scafell Pike, tends to be quieter coming up from Seathwaite, though once out of the Corridor it can be busy as you join up with everyone starting at Wasdale.
