The approximately 500-year-old oak tree is also called the "Eichle" (little oak). There's also a bench for resting and admiring the view.

After his Russian campaign, Napoleon passed through here with his army. He brought Russian prisoners with him, who, as the story goes, set up camp near the oak tree. This is why the oak tree is also called the Russian Oak.

The prominent, free-standing tree was a landmark and, above all, a welcome resting place on the way to work in the fields after the steep climb out of the valley. In 2018 the rest area was redesigned and has now become a nice place to sit.

This nearly 500-year-old oak tree is popularly known as the "Russian Oak." The name is said to originate from the fact that Napoleon, on his retreat from Russia, took Russian prisoners with him, who camped around the old oak tree.

Measured at chest height, the trunk circumference is 4.60 meters. In 2010, a large branch broke off.
