This so-called HOV Combi Bridge is 170 meters long and 26 meters high, weighs approximately 6300 tons and replaced the old Vleutense Bridge. The client was the Urban Development Department of the Municipality of Utrecht. The bridge has four lanes: two for the HOV bus connection and two for normal car traffic. The bicycle and pedestrian paths hang outside the arches on the south side.
During our inline skate ride from Haarlem to Utrecht Central Station we came across this special bridge, overlooking the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal.
