The Weerdsluis is a lock with pointed doors in the Dutch city of Utrecht and forms the connection between the Utrecht Stadsbuitengracht and the Vecht. The lock was constructed in the Middle Ages to maintain the water level in the Utrecht canal and canal system. The Vecht was an important shipping link between Amsterdam and the River Rhine.
