The von Humboldt family's grave is located on the east side of the Falkenberg cemetery at the level of the "Memorial Stone of the Two World Wars". Even if a highlight "Falkenberg cemetery with grave of the von Humboldt family" has already been created, this shows the exact location of the family grave.

The grave is that of the mother of the two great German scholars, Marie-Elisabeth von Humboldt, and her husbands. Originally, the Humboldt family's crypt was located here, which is still preserved but not accessible. The coffins are probably still in the crypt. Under the granite lid, a staircase leads down to the burial place of Marie-Elisabeth von Humboldt (1741-1796) and her husbands Friedrich Ernst von Holwede (1723-1765) and Alexander Georg von Humboldt (1720-1779). The memorial plaque was installed on October 8, 2013. It replaced a plaque from 1998 that was very similar in design.
