The occupation of Denmark by the Germans in 1940-45 also left its mark on Filsø. The Germans demanded that the drainage from Søndersø be stopped. However, the Germans could be dissuaded from flooding Søndersø. Instead, an anti-tank trench was dug through Langeodde, which was provided with a mortise so that the lake could be flooded. This was all part of the work of the occupying forces with the construction of a coastal line in the form of armored trenches, which should delay and stop in the event of a possible Allied invasion of the Jutland North Sea coast. At Langodde you can still see traces of the anti-tank ditches. At the end of 1943, the occupying forces confiscated the Filsø Avlsgård farm and its buildings. The Germans set up a headquarters in the main building, which was almost newly built at the time, which was so seriously damaged. In addition, almost 2,000 men were quartered in the other buildings in the courtyard.
