The monastery is worth a visit in every season. Here you can just have some good food or drink, just relax in the park or visit the beautiful church with its imposing organ.
There is also a good bakery at the gates of the monastery. There are all kinds of very tasty baked goods and good coffee here.

The monastery complex is well preserved. There is also a large restaurant and a nicer café serving delicious cakes. A small shop sells local specialties and devotional items as well as books and eiffel tourism.

The monastery was founded in 1134 by Bernhard von Clairvaux and is known beyond the borders. Even if the Cistercian Convention was dissolved in October 2017, Himmerod still presents itself today as a place of inner contemplation and encounter.
In the monastery restaurant you can eat and drink excellently and experience something of the monastery atmosphere.
