The current city bridge dates from 2002. From bank to bank it is almost 252 meters (at normal water levels) and the bridge is up to 34 meters high. The border between Germany and Poland runs in the middle of the shipping lane. Therefore, about two thirds of the bridge is on Polish territory. A visit to Słubice on the other side of the Oder is definitely worth a detour.

City Bridge Frankfurt (Oder)
A bridge over the Oder near Frankfurt played an important role in the Middle Ages. For the Hanseatic traders as well as for the pilgrims on the Way of St. James. The first massive bridge was built in 1895, at that time even with a tram track that led over to what was then Frankfurt's Dammvorstadt. The current bridge dates from 2002. From bank to bank it is almost 252 meters (at normal water levels) and the bridge reaches a height of up to 34 meters. The border between Germany and Poland runs in the middle of the shipping lane. Therefore, about two thirds of the bridge runs on Polish territory. A visit to Słubice on the other side of the Oder is always worth a detour.
