The Zippendorfer Strand is the “city beach” of Schwerin. There is little going on here in the cooler months, but even more so on hot days. There are a few places to stop for refreshments near the beach.

If you want to get out of the city for a moment and experience a bit of nature there, then you have come to the right place at Lake Schwerin. Here you can hike, ride a bike and cool off in the refreshing water of the lake on hot days.

Riverside and cycle paths lead around the Schweriner See, on which you can explore the lake. Here and there you will find beautiful swimming spots with partly large sandy beaches. Some are in the immediate vicinity of the city and offer you a spectacular view of the city center of Schwerin, others are a bit further away, but offer you more nature and idyll.

The insider tip, by the way, is the outer lake in the far north. The water quality is best there and the east bank is also ideal for surfing and sailing due to the wind conditions.
