The Old Town Hall in Schwerin was the town hall of the residential town of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The listed building on the market stands on the same site as the previous buildings, which have been documented since 1338.

The old town hall appears modest on the market square. Mentioned for the first time in 1351, it has always stood in the same place. It was destroyed and rebuilt three times (1531, 1558, 1651) by city fires. Its current appearance, with a Tudor-style facade, was created in 1835 based on designs by Georg Adolf Demmler. The golden rider on the central pinnacle is a stylized representation of the city's founder, Henry the Lion (1129-1195). Today, the Tourist Information Office is located in the Town Hall. The city council also meets in the town hall. However, the official seat of the city administration and the mayor is the Stadthaus am Packhof.

The old town hall consists of two half-timbered gables from the 17th century and different parts of the building, some of whose histories go back to the 14th century. the archway and passage to the butcher's market is a reminder of this time.
