The Volta lighthouse was built in 1927 following a project by the engineer Gabriele Giussani. It is located in the locality of San Maurizio in Brunate. The lighthouse was built with the aim of commemorating the centenary of the death of Alessandro Volta. From the lighthouse it is possible to admire splendid panoramic views.

The Faro Voltiano was built in 1927 on the 100th anniversary of the death of Alessandro Volta. From here you have a unique view of Como, Lake Como and in clear weather over the Western Alps with the Monte Rosa massif. The ascent from the mountain station of the cog railway to the lighthouse has almost 15% gradient.

Short, crisp climb from the Funiculare mountain station to the Faro. You could also take the road, but only half as much fun. On the weekend also drives a bus.
