Be sure to try the home-brewed mill beer! Beautiful beer garden in the shadow of the mill. If possible, ask for a visit to the mill - because a look from the gallery across Kalkar is just fantastic.

The Kalkar mill is a "gallery Dutch" with a rotating hood and "old Dutch" wing mechanism. It is considered the highest, fully functional mill on the Lower Rhine. The mill has 8 souls, whereby 4 of the top 5 souls are used for the mill. In the mill language, one floor corresponds to one Söller.
