The Uttobrunn pilgrimage church is the first stop on the VIA NOVA pilgrimage route, which begins in Metten.

According to a legend, the blessed Utto lived here as a hermit. Charlemagne had enabled him to found the nearby Metten monastery. In the early modern period, numerous believers visited the place where a healing tape was located. Abbot Benedikt Ferg had today's St. Mary's pilgrimage church built around 1700. The equipment comes essentially from the time of construction, including the two altar figures, which represent Charlemagne and Utto. The picture of grace is a late Gothic Madonna. In front of the church stands a linden tree that is several hundred years old.
