Deggendorf is beautifully situated in the valley of the Danube. Nearby, the Isar flows into the Danube and forms one of the most important floodplain landscapes in Bavaria just outside the city. But the city itself is worth seeing. In the high medieval old town you can admire many historical buildings, while in the cultural quarter all kinds of museums invite to visit.
