Behind the over 100-year-old swing bridge lies the home port with over 20 traditional sailing ships that are still seaworthy. It was friends of traditional seafaring who bought and restored old sailing ships and moored them on the Untertrave in front of the picturesque old town backdrop of Lübeck. The historic ships are brought back to life on the popular Baltic Sea cruises. Sailing along is welcome!
The people of Lübeck built their city in a protected inland location. In 1329, however, Lübeck acquired the fishing village of Travemünde and thus secured its own access to the Baltic Sea.

The Lübeck Museum Harbor is located on the Wenditzufer (or An der Untertrave) directly on the northwestern edge of Lübeck's old town island, actually in the Holstenhafen between the listed swing bridge at the Engelsgrube and the Lübeck Music and Congress Hall. Here in the museum harbor you can find several old cargo sailing ships typical of the Baltic Sea, a dredger and a tugboat.
The harbor shore invites you to stroll, look and take photos ;-)
