Artwork on the Kunstwanderweg Hoher Fläming.

The Hoher Fläming art trail is a system of sculpture trails in the Hoher Fläming nature park in Brandenburg, which connects the railway stations of Bad Belzig and Wiesenburg / Mark. The 17 km long north route was opened on 5 August 2007, the 16 km long south route on 8 May 2010.

Not far from the second highest point of the North German Plain, the Hagelberg, rises the waterfall for the Fläming. The installation addresses two key aspects of the Fläming landscape: the prevailing dryness of the soil and the vastness of the sky. High steel pylons with rotary pumps at the upper end are in a circle, another pump of the same kind is "emigrated" and is slightly off.
The single pump acts as an intermediary between the waterfall pump circuit and the open landscape. The silhouette of the pumps rises in front of a wide sky, the wind sweeps around the pump masts, clouds pull over them. The viewer's gaze involuntarily turns to the sky. The view back to the horizon, to the vast arable land at this location. It is a dry land with sandy soil, burning sun and bare frosts.
This absurd situation with pumps at a height of 7.0 m, which nobody can handle, creates a waterfall that only arises in the imagination of the beholder. The installation "A waterfall for the Fläming" is a powerful place that the viewer can fill with his fantasies.
Material: 6.5 m high, black tubular steel masts with welded cast-iron garden rotary pumps.
