The Hohe Acht is the highest elevation in the Eifel and with the observation tower one of the landmarks of the Hocheifel region. Nearby is the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower.

The tower is 16.3m high and its wall on the ground floor is one meter thick. Occasion of the construction of the tower was the silver wedding of Emperor Wilhelm II and Empress Auguste Victoria and the memory of Kaiser Wilhelm I.

Great view over the Eifel. The location markings on the parapet above help with orientation.
Unfortunately, up here at the weekend you can always hear the engine noise from the Nürburgring.

The ascent is worthwhile and rewarded with the highest point in the Eifel. In winter with ice and snow, however, you should wear really sturdy and non-slip shoes, as the ascent to the tower and the stairs in front of the tower are extremely slippery... So be careful and nothing stands in the way of the view 🙋‍♂️

For one, the way over the Brünnchen along the racetrack and then through the forest is beautiful and then the grandiose view that you have from up there as well as the fact that the Hohe Acht is the highest point of the Eifel are reasons enough, right?
