"It has around 250 Lenze - if you want to know more, you can count on its inauguration on September 28, 1763. Inside, the pulpit altar is one of the baroque treasures of Westphalia. Funny: the altar is more than 69 years older than the church. Already It was delivered in May 1694, but there was still a lack of money to complete the construction of the church, and where it was stored in the meantime remains a Wattenscheid secret to this day.

In addition to many other artistic details, the pulpit at the front shows the three evangelists Johannes (with the eagle), Mark (with the lion) and Luke (with the bull). The evangelist Matthew (with the angel) hides fourth behind the altar at the pulpit. 'Mattai on the last' is a saying borrowed from Luther's catechism. It is entirely possible that the Wattenscheiders thought of this importance of the Evangelical Lutheran church language when the pulpit was installed later and therefore placed Matthew at the back.
