The lighthouse itself is impressive, unfortunately you cannot enter it. Otherwise there is not really anything to see around the Faro, in the nearby village there is a bar where you can drink coffee. There is also a popular beach for surfing and windsurfing nearby.

The new tower
In 1978 the new tower was put into operation right next to the old tower. It is a cylindrical, 39 meter high concrete tower. The white tower has three red ribbons. The fire height is 54 meters. The tower stands on a cliff directly on the Atlantic Ocean, about 15 msnm and can be reached via a road from Poris de Abona

Very impressive lighthouse silhouetted against the ocean.
Fully automated and cannot be visited, but great for a few photo opportunities.
A short distance away is the Sanatorium, which is definitely worth a visit.
