"Open your eyes for children's rights" was the motto of the International Children's Day Festival at the FEZ Berlin in 2015 and a concern of Gene Simmons, founder, singer, and bassist of the rock band "Kiss."
On May 28, 2015, the musician, who is committed to ensuring that children are valued and respected worldwide and can grow up healthy and happy, visited Europe's largest non-profit children's, youth, and family center. Two days before Berlin's largest children's party began on June 1, marking International Children's Day, he signed an original piece of the Berlin Wall, which features a portrait of children's rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala.
Together with children from the Anna Seghers School in Berlin-Adlershof, the global star signed and colorfully printed the piece. It will remain in front of the FEZ Berlin in Wuhlheide and is intended to serve as a reminder of the need to respect children's rights. Malala's portrait was painted by Spanish artist Victor Landeta, who, together with Berlin schoolchildren, organized a workshop to promote children's rights – especially the right to education – through artistic means.

Other original sections of the Berlin Wall were painted by artists and children around the world, who were able to leave their ideas for the future on them.

On May 30, 2015, at the beginning of the International Children's Day celebrations, the section of the Wall featuring Malala's portrait was officially inaugurated. Rukhsana Afzaal, Counselor at the Pakistani Embassy in Berlin, also accepted the "Theo's Blue Heart" award on Malala's behalf.
